One light, no confusion

One light, no confusion

I was in Japan, standing in front of three elevators.

When I pressed the button, a small light turned on next to one of them. It was a simple signal that told me this is the elevator you are going to take.

So instead of waiting and watching all three, I walked toward that one.

Right before it arrived, the light started blinking. A soft sound came with it. It felt like the elevator was gently saying, "I'm almost there."

I appreciated how little effort it took to understand what was happening. No confusion and no second guessing.
